Real Wedding at Cripps Barn 🌿

I truly love nothing more than receiving wedding photos from the Big Day itself… It puts everything into perspective and a vision become reality. It’s amazing to see all the stationery I produce in my little studio come together with all the other wonderful things on the day, such as the flowers, foliage, overall table layout and everything.

This post is dedicated to the awesome couple Claire & Josh who travelled all the way from sunny Sydney, Australia to get married in the beautiful Cotswold venue, Cripps Barn.

They came to me after they had done their invitations and wanted something really special and personalised to them for the wedding day. They had two very prominent themes that they wanted enhancing within their stationery; their love of craft beer & beautiful rustic antlers. As you will see in the photographs below, we incorporated both of these things very nicely into their stationery, with flashes of copper, foliage, watercolour & brown kraft goodness. I had so much fun creating everything, including: personalised place names, personalised belly bands that wrapped around the napkins, an Order of the Day sign, Table Plan Cards, Table Name Cards, menus and Order of Service booklets. Thanks for having all the faith and giving me the creative freedom to produce some really exciting stuff! Congratulations to Claire & Josh, it was an absolute pleasure!

Wedding Fair at The Barn at Upcote 💕

Taking part in The Upcote Wedding Fair is definitely a highlight of mine! The team that run the show and venue, Hannah, Jo & Andrew are just wonderful. They put on such a great event for all involved; suppliers and guests alike; there's so much to see, so many friendly faces and just a great atmosphere all round. I absolutely love it!
It's a great opportunity, not only to showcase my work, but its also a chance to meet lots of excited newly engaged couples. I think it's important when providing such a personal service to try and meet my clients face to face- this isn't always possible, but I like to do so when I can.
If you haven't yet chosen your venue and you're looking to get married in the beautiful Cotswolds, in an idyllic setting, in a barn type venue, then look no further. Go and see Hannah and the team for a look around and I'm sure you'll fall in love with Upcote just as much as I did upon my first viewing.
Have a look at a few pics below, including Wedding Cakes from the wonderful Claire at Cake Daydreams along with Wedding Flowers from the marvellous Jo from Aqua Flowers.
Thanks for having us, already looking forward to the Autumn fair! xx

Real Wedding at Cripps Barn 🌿

One of my favourite things to blog about; a Real Wedding, with pictures from the Big Day itself. To see it all come together and the stationery in situ really makes me very happy! This one is a recent one from the beautiful venue of Cripps Barn.
I had worked with the couple from the start with their wedding invitations- in which they went for a Tailored Collection Design and just altered the colours and wording to suit their preferences. Please see below an image of the White Snapdragon design from the collection and then a picture of their adapted invitations.

The couple's theme, as you can see, was very much greens, golds and whites, which was not only in keeping with the venue but also with all of their flowers etc on the Wedding Day. After the invitations were sent out, we set out to work on the rest of the stationery. Retro Press designed and produced their Name Place Cards, Table Name Cards (which were all named after famous race horses- love it- see in pic below!) and Order of Service booklets. It was an absolute pleasure working with this lovely couple and a huge Congratulations to you both on your recent marriage!

Wedding Inspiration: Green Foliage 🌿

In this past year, I have seen a significant rise in the desire for a more 'natural' wedding vibe, with lots of greens, creams and foliage taking precedent throughout the wedding. Whether you're going for a rustic feel or a classic one, this colour palette lends itself very nicely to both.

I've been having a look through Pinterest and have found some wonderful inspiration for when it comes to the Big Day itself and I very much enjoy all of it...

As I briefly touched upon in my opening paragraph, this colour way and feel of foliage works well with both a rustic wedding or a very classic/ traditional one. In terms of the wedding stationery to match, with the rustic feel, I would be tempted to add in a brown kraft element, along with twine, lace, etc. If you are going for a more traditional wedding, I would suggest that gold & rose gold work very well with this theme, or keep it quite simple and adding in a wreath/ some leaves as decoration.

Below are some past examples of where rustic meets foliage...

Please see below for some past stationery designed and produced here at Retro in which reflect  this gorgeous theme, but in a more classic style.
